What happened to Marc Jacobs?! Did he swallow the 50's pill he took for Fall 2010 too hard? or did the Chevalier honor hit him too hard? In the picture above he manages to look both fat and sickly in black! The pants are too big and the paleness of his face is too much.

Personally I prefer the skirt-clad Jacobs we were growing accustomed to.

¡¿Que le pasó a Marc Jacobs?! ¿Acaso le cayeron mal las pastillas de los años '50 que tomó para Otoño 2010? o ¿Será que el honor de Caballero le pegó muy fuerte? En la foto arriba logra parecer gordo y demacrado a la vez ¡en negro! Los pantalones son muy grandes y su cara está muy palida.

Personalmente prefiero el Marc Jacobs que usaba faldas y mostraba sus piernas doquier que vaya.

Fashion Influence #1...

Stefano Pilati isn't only a talented and gifted fashion artist and designer, creating some of the most outstanding collections for YSL since Monsieur Yves himself, but a great style icon as well.

I love Stefano's style, the way he mixes and matches traditional items with easy going pieces always achieving a comfortable, chic, and elegant look for any occasion and time of day. He can be seen wearing crisp pressed shirts, blazers or embellished cardigans with silk scarves, slouchy drop-crotch pants, moccasins, and colorful socks; he loves black and neutrals, using vivid colors for accent pieces only like socks, brooches, or scarves.

He is one of the great influencers on my own personal style, although I never try to look 100% like Stefano. He always inspires me sometimes with color matching, other times with how to mix pieces.

I just hope I can meet him someday! Plus we share the same name... I'm Gabriel Estefano ;)

Stefano Pilati no es sólo un artista y diseñador con mucho talento que tiene un don especial para la moda, creando colecciones tan impactantes par YSL desde el reinado del propio Yves; Stefano es un ícono del estilo tambien.

Me encanta el estilo de Stefano, la forma que mezcla y combina lo tradicional con piezas cómodas y faciles de llevar, logrando un look chic, elegante y confortable para cualquier ocasión u hora del dia. Se lo puede ver con camisas perfectamente planchadas, blazers, americanas o cardigans con pañuelos de seda, pantalones flojos con mocasines y medias coloridas; le encanta el negro y los neutros, usando colores solo para accesorios como medias, broches o pañuelos.

Él es una de las grandes influencias de mi estilo personal, pero nunca trato de copiarlo 100%. Siempre me inspira, algunas veces con la combinación de colores y otras con la mezcla de piezas. 

 

Sólo espero conocerlo algún dia, ademas que compartimos el mismo nombre... Yo soy Gabriel Estefano.

Recently the Oscars of fashion took place, the CFDA Awards, and for the category of Menswear the nominated were Tom Ford, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright for Rag & Bones, and Michael Bastian.

Personally after having have seen the collections, I cannot believe Michael Bastian didn't win! I love his Fall 2010 line, it's very english and preppy with touches of biker and punk. I loved the boots and specially the kilt look.

Rag & Bone was also amazing but I prefer Michael Bastian, here is the F/W 2010 collection.

Los CFDA Awards son como los Oscars de la moda y este año para la categoría de Menswear los nominados fueron Tom Ford, Devid Neville y Marcus Wainwright por Rag & Bones; y Michael Bastian.

Despues de haber visto las colecciones, personalmente ¡no puedo creer que Michael Bastian no ganó! Me encantó su colección de Otoño 2010, muy preppy-ingles con toques de biker y punk. Me enamoré de las botas y especialmente del look con el kilt.

Rag & Bones estuvo bueno, pero prefiero Michael. Aca esta la colección F/W 2010.

TF + YSL = MJ

Yes... Marc Jacobs has really transformed himself from a great-chubby-nerdy designer to a great-sexy-tattooed designer.

With his bulging pecs and biceps Jacobs now has the self-steem and may I say the right to pose naked for whatever he wants, specially if that something in question is his new perfume. Some people did not like him posing naked, but I say if you got it, flaunt it so you can look back and say... "I was such a hot bitch!"

I'm guessing that Marc is channeling Yves's naked picture back in the '71 and Tom Ford's perfum-bottle-covering-crotch add, anyhow I like it. 

Plus it's the very first men's perfume done by Marc Jacobs and it has a naked add... Love you Marc! 

The perfume is called BANG, btw.

They're the Brangelina of the fashion world, Marc Jacobs and his Brazilian hubby Lorenzo Martone.

Now there are rumors floating around that these two are over, even though they're just rumors for now, neither Marc's people or Lorenzo's people are commenting on the matter at hand, Jacobs and Martone made their relationship public at the 2008 Met Ball and tied-the-knot this past New Year's Eve supposedly, in St. Barth's

I just hope it's all a lie, a big false and nasty lie; I love these two together, and if they are going thru a rough patch I hope they work it out.

Este mayo pasado, trabajé en el backstage de Six O' Clock Tea, un evento de beneficencia en la Embajada de Uruguay en la Argentina. Este año lo recaudado por el evento se destinó a la Fundación Creando Lazos que asiste a chicos con cancer. 

Despues de los dulces, postrecitos, sanduchitos, muchos "itos" y una gran variedad de té, cada año este evento se caracteriza por presentar un desfile de diseñadores reconocidos dentro de la industria de la moda argentina, como Fabian Zitta, Mariana Dappiano, Araceli Pourcel, Maria Pryor, Nadine Zlogotora y Cecilia Gadea. Six O' Clock Tea tambien cuenta con un diseñador invitado del exterior, este año la marca invitada fue Vena Cava, una casa de moda relativamente nueva con sus bases en Nueva York creada por Sophie Buhai y Lisa Mayock. 

Estas dos diseñadoras, a pesar de ser nuevas en el escenario de la moda, estan acumulando una gran cantidad de admiradoras y compradoras no solo en EE.UU. sino tambien mundialmente, ya que venden sus colecciones en Japón, el Líbano, Arabia Saudita y Singapur. Entre sus lista de seguidoras ya cuentan a Blake Lively, Rachel Bilson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Arden Wohl, Rita Wilson y Liya Kebede.

¿Como describir el estilo de Vena Cava? Joven, Atrevido, para una mujer que esta segura de si misma, roquera, egipcio punk son los mejores advetivos, ya que ellas de dejan influenciar mucho por la era de Nefertiti y Ramses, si Nefertiti hubiera sido punk hubiera vestido por Vena Cava.

La colección que presentaron en Buenos Aires fue la de Otoño-Invierno 2009. Para mi gusto, increible, especialmente los zapatos, algunos se veian suficientemente unisex para querer robarmelos pero no pude.

This past May, I interned at the backstage of Six O' Clock Tea. An event held at the Embassy of Uruguay in Argentina, whose funds go straight to charity, this year it went to Fundacion Creando Lazos that assist kids with cancer.

After all the crumpets, goodies, and desserts and a variety of tea, every year this gathering is caracterized by having a fashion show, with some of the most recognized designers in the Argentine fashion industry, like Fabina Zitta, Mariana Dappiano, Araceli Pourcel, Maria Pryor, Nadine Zlogotora, and Cecilia Gadea. Six O' Clock Tea also counts with a foreign designer invited every year, this time around they picked Vena Cava, a relatively new fashion house with their home-base in New York created by Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock.

Even though they are new to the fashion world, they are accumulating a large amount of admirers and buyers not only in the USA, but also around the world, being that they also sell in places like Japan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. Among their list of loyal clientele, they count with such names as Blake Lively, Rachel Bilson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Arden Wohl, Rita Wilson, and Liya Kebede.

How to describe the style of Vena Cava? Young, daring, for a woman that is sure of herself, rocker, egyptian punk would be the best adjectives to describe their fashion philosophy, being that the designers are very much influenced by the times of Nefertiti and Ramses, I think if Nefertiti had been punk, she would have definitely have dressed in Vena Cava.
